National Safety Month
Observed annually in June, National Safety Month focuses on reducing leading causes of injury and death at work, on the road and in our homes and communities. At Moneco Advisors, we want to focus this month on what it takes to keep your financial lives safe as well. While there is no magic cure for market risk or avoiding volatility, there are several other financial planning strategies that will increase your asset protection. One, and often the most overlooked, is liability insurance. If you saved 15% or more on car insurance in 15-minutes or less, did you sacrifice the protection that you need? One auto accident over your coverage limits could drain your savings and force you to rely on your retirement accounts more heavily. This concept of asset protection also goes for your life, health, homeowners, and even long-term care risks. Mid-Year Meeting - A Great Success!
Along with the entire team from our affiliate, Rocco & Associates, we took time last week to conduct our Mid-Year Meeting, offsite at the Birdcraft Museum in Fairfield run by the Connecticut Audubon Society. We normally don’t give much thought to the actual location where we hold these events, but this time around it was different. As local firms with deep roots in the Fairfield Community, we all decided that holding our mid as well as year-end meetings locally was in line with our belief that we should be supporting those businesses/venues within the community where our firms have operated for so many years. With nearly 30 folks in attendance, including our summer interns, we discussed new technology adoption to improve our administration as well as enhance the client experience. In addition, we focused in on our content and communications to discuss ways to increase engagement with all of our clients so that you could take more advantage of some of the resources we make available. We concluded with some refreshments outside as members of the team were able to tour the grounds and the bird sanctuary on a beautiful June evening.

This year our affiliate, Rocco & Associates, will return as the presenting sponsor for the Second Annual Fairfield Police Sunset 5k Race Presented by Rocco & Associates. All the proceeds from the event will go to support two town agencies that are integral to our community: the Friends of the Bigelow Center for Senior Activities and the Fairfield Police Union Scholarship Fund. The festivities will start at 6:00 p.m. and we will be offering a traditional 5k race, a one-mile fun walk, and a Kids & Cops scamper. This summer spectacular will include food trucks featuring Colony Grill, Taco Loco, Sierra Nevada Beer for anyone 21 and over, activities for kids, entertainment, and family fun.
