May is Eldercare Month
Eldercare, as defined by Merriam-Webster, is the care of older adults and especially the care of an older parent by a son or daughter. All month long we will be highlighting some of the challenges and opportunities surrounding Eldercare as well as topics that all interested parties involved should be aware off. Our blogs and social media posts will also include a host of informative content to make you more aware of this very critical area in the financial planning process. As a firm, we are constantly working with clients to help get these types of conversations between loved ones started early. As we age, things can change rapidly and you will want to have everything in place to ensure there is no interruption in care or conflict between family members. Team to Support the Fairfield Police Union Scholarship Fund
For the fifth consecutive year, a team from our affiliate, Rocco & Associates, will once again suit up to support the Fairfield Police Union's Scholarship Fund Annual Golf Tournament. The tournament will be held at the Patterson Club on May 20th. The Fairfield Police Union is recognized as the exclusive bargaining agent for the unit consisting of all full-time Police Officers within the Fairfield Police Department, except officers of the grade of Captain and above. Each year, scholarships are awarded to the children of current Fairfield Police Officers. In addition, the Fairfield High School Scholarship Foundation awards scholarships annually to graduating Fairfield High School seniors who plan to pursue a career in law enforcement or are the children of a Police Officer. This year, Moneco Advisors along with our affiliate, Rocco & Associates, will return as the presenting sponsor for the Second Annual Fairfield Police Sunset 5k Race Presented by Rocco & Associates. All the proceeds from the event will go to support two town agencies that are integral to our community: the Friends of the Bigelow Center for Senior Activities and the Fairfield Police Union Scholarship Fund. The festivities will start at 6:00 p.m. and we will be offering a traditional 5k race, a one-mile fun walk, and a Kids & Cops scamper. This summer spectacular will include food trucks featuring Colony Grill, Taco Loco, Sierra Nevada Beer for anyone 21 and over, activities for kids, entertainment, and family fun.
