MONECO Advisors Named to RIA Channel's Top 50 Emerging RIA's List

January 25, 2021

FAIRFIELD, Conn., December 21, 2020 – MONECO Advisors is pleased to announce it has recently been named as one of the Top 50 Emerging Registered Investment Advisory Firms in the United States, by RIA Channel (https://www.riachannel.com/top-emerging-rias-2020/).  In fact, the firm ranked #7 out of 50 in the results. In addition, the firm also was named as the second fastest growing RIA in CT by City Wire RIA Magazine (https://citywireusa.com/registered-investment-advisor/magazines). These two awards follow MONECO Advisors being named to the Financial Times FT 300 list in July. All of these recognitions received during a very challenging year brought on by the virus, but also one when the firm is celebrating its 40th year in business.

The firm’s growing team can now offer increased flexibility and a greater capability to assess, design and implement a host of financial planning strategies across all areas of one’s financial life. The MONECO Advisors team consists of six Certified Financial PlannerTM professionals, two Accredited Investment FiduciariesTM, one Certified Investment Management Analyst® designee, two advisors with their Juris Doctorate and two MBAs, to help meet the increasing complex financial planning topics that face individuals, families and businesses today.

One of the criteria for the RIA Channel ranking, required that for a firm to be considered, it must have experienced growth of 30% or more. “The receipt of these two recognitions is a culmination of a truly team effort during a time that the financial markets with their ups and downs, have given us quite a ride,” stated Charlie Rocco, Managing Partner at MONECO Advisors. “Despite everything we have all gone through in 2020, these recognitions are a nice way to close out the year and look ahead to 2021,” said Rocco.

“These additional recognitions are truly an honor and ones that we don’t take lightly,” said John Rosenau, Managing Partner at MONECO Advisors. “These rankings should be shared by our clients as well, who have entrusted their financial planning needs to our team over the years, while we continue to strive to provide them unparalleled service,” said Rosenau. The firm is diligently working on a marketing plan with the main goal of becoming the most referable firm within Fairfield County and beyond.

RIA Channel ranked the 2020 Top 50 Emerging RIAs using a proprietary set of criteria and data. The ranking is based on both size and growth in assets reported to the SEC as of October 31, 2020. Wealth management firms with negative disclosures on their ADV Part I were excluded. Wealth management firms that were growing 30% or more over the past five years, and had total assets under management of less than $500 million were included. RIA Database (RIADatabase.com) was used for regulatory data, growth data, organic research, and advisor surveys. We recognize these firms as leaders in their field and congratulate them on their success.

The City Wire report is based on the most recent Form ADV data reported to the Securities and Exchange Commission at the time of publication, as helpfully gathered by our data partner, Discovery Data. We only considered firms that manage more than $100m, and which aren’t affiliated on a firm level with a broker dealer or other institution (though a firm’s employees may be dually registered). Since we wanted to make sure we were only considering financial planning-oriented RIAs and not money managers, we excluded firms that don’t report having many financial planning clients.

The Financial Times 300 Top Registered Investment Advisers is an independent listing produced annually by Ignites Research, a division of Money-Media, Inc., on behalf of the Financial Times (July 2020). The FT 300 is based on data gathered from RIA firms, regulatory disclosures, and the FT’s research. The listing reflected each practice’s performance in six primary areas: assets under management, asset growth, compliance record, years in existence, credentials and online accessibility. Over 750 qualified firms applied for the award, 300 of which were selected (40%). This award does not evaluate the quality of services provided to clients and is not indicative of the practice’s future performance. Neither the RIA firms nor their employees pay a fee to The Financial Times in exchange for inclusion in the FT 300.
