Biden Picks Powell As FED Chair

In a sign some say was a move to instill continued confidence and not disrupt the current Federal Reserve's policies, Biden recently renominated Chairman Jerome Powell for a second term to head the central bank. Although having bipartisanship support over the years since the Obama administration, Powell will now face the Senate Banking Committee and Senate for final approval.

Jobless Claims Reach Lowest Level Since 1969

In a continued sign that the overall economic climate is improving, weekly jobless claims last week reached another milestone and a level not seen since 1969. Despite this positive news, job openings are still hovering at or near record highs as the labor market remains tight. Others say the news could be based on seasonal hiring, but only time will tell.
