After three years, the Federal Reserve announced last week that it has increased the federal funds rate by .25%, a long-awaited monetary policy move. The markets having already priced this in, responded positively, but what does this recent increase mean for borrowers, savers and homeowners. Unemployment Claims Improve Again
In yet another sign that the labor market, although tight, continues to be a bright spot, new unemployment claims improved more than expected last week. As of this last report, claims are hovering right where they were pre-pandemic. The only variable is with inflation on the rise, will employers start to scale back hiring?
