Team MONECO - Always Be Learning
If you stopped by the office last Wednesday you may of thought that everyone was on vacation, but indeed this was not the case. Instead, a host of advisors and our relationship management team headed up to Southington to attend the 39th Annual FPA of Connecticut State Conference. The FPA is the Financial Planning Association which has over 28,000 members nationwide and is the principal professional organization for CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) professionals, educators, financial services providers and students who seek advancement in a growing, dynamic profession. Your MONECO team boasts 14 advisors that have successfully gained this sought after designation, which includes our own Salim Boutagy, who is the current President of the Connecticut Chapter of the FPA (pictured below addressing the crowd). Charlie Rocco also sits on the board of directors.
The conference focused on the future of Financial Planning and the resources that advisors need to help our clients pursue their financial goals. Topics included estate planning; how state and federal policies are affecting clients, advanced tax strategies and retirement planning mistakes to avoid. The common theme throughout the day was to be able to walk away with new & innovative ways to help you, our clients, meet the complex challenges facing financial planning today. Researching Extended Care Policies
As we kick off "elder care" month at MONECO, we start off with what you need to know about extended care policies, otherwise known as a Long Term Care insurance. Whether it is for you personally or you are researching for a loved one that has a need, these policies can be an important piece of the financial planning puzzle. Home Sales Unexpectedly Slump
After a multi-month rebound, home sales unexpectedly slumped in March. There is no doubt that the entire housing market has faced numerous challenges over the past year both with inventory shortages and rising mortgage rates. On the bright side, it may be yet another reason to give the Federal Reserve pause when it comes to raising rates again this week. As always, if you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out.

Fairfield Police Sunset 5k - Presented by MONECO Advisors
The 5th Annual Fairfield Police Sunset 5K is Presented by MONECO Advisors and will be held again this year on July 19th at 6:30P.M. All proceeds will be donated to the Fairfield Police Union Scholarship Fund & the Fairfield Police Foundation. You can run (3.1 mile) or walk (1 mile) course. We were able to increase the number of participants to 1000 this year and do expect to sell out, so don't delay, sign up today for Fairfield's most memorable night of the summer!
